Joanne Reynolds

Digital & Marketing Strategist, 40, British. Studied modern languages and marketing. Tried ballet, swimming, hockey, tennis and aerobics before discovering that distance running was the sport for me. I have a list of must-do-one-day races that is too long to publish – but I’m slowly ticking them off.

Joanne Reynolds

Born in London, I grew up in Cambridgeshire. After studying French and German at Uni, I went on to work in traditional marketing for products as diverse as sparkling water and the Agatha Christie brand. When the digital revolution hit, I found myself in the right place at the right time and grew with the industry, even if it did take me approximately 18 months to upload my first profile photo to Facebook. I’ve lived in many different European countries including France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy for varying periods, although the UK will always be home. Inspired by the pictures of the London Marathon on television each year, and having always done lots of different sports, I got out my running shoes out and hit the roads. It wasn’t however until years later when I started to train consistently that I saw real progress and just how sport can change your life. It’s how I got involved in this project after all.

“If you are losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon.”
Kathrine Switzer
