In sport, I should really be one who is very precise, I know the theory behind the practice, the limits, the training programs and what all the books says. Then we move into the real world and that’s where instinct comes into play and then takes over. In reality, also that bit of experience gained after I banged my head against many walls has taught me to focus on the search for intrinsic wellbeing. To summarise: learn the art, then let the mind roam free. For me, competition has the face of all of those athletes (famous and not) who a few minutes before a tough session have that distant and rather lost, yet relaxed and serene look.
